H.E. Ambassador Demitu Hambisa presents her letter of credence to the President of the Republic of Italy
H.E. Demitu Hambisa, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to Italy and Permanent Representative of Ethiopia to UN Rome-based Agencies presented her letter of credence to the President of Republic of Italy H.E. Sergio Mattarella, in a ceremony, organized at the Quirinale Palace, Rome, Italy on Thursday, April 29, 2021.
During the ceremony, the Ambassador was accompanied by diplomats of the Embassy and the ceremony was also attended by government officials from the Presidential Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Italy.
In her speech, the Ambassador conveyed the President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, H.E Sahle-Work Zewde’s warmest greetings and best wishes towards the President’s good health, happiness, continued progress and prosperity of the people of Italy.
The Ambassador also conveyed that Ethiopia looks forward to further strengthen relations and cooperation with the Republic of Italy at the bilateral and multilateral levels for mutual benefit. The Ambassador expressed to H.E. Mr. Sergio Mattarela her will under her capacity as the Ambassador of Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia in the Republic of Italy to further the Ethiopia-Italy relations to greater heights.
Prior to her present appointment, the Ambassador held various high-level positions in the government of Ethiopia. Amongst these positions are as the Head of the Prime Minister Office and Cabinet Affair’s Minister, Minister for Women and Children Affairs; Minister for Public Enterprises, Minister for Science and Technology, House Speaker for the Oromia Regional State Council and Public Prosecutor at Oromia Regional Justice Bureau.
