(June 24,2024):The WFP Executive Board Annual Session has kicked off today in Rome, Italy.The President of the Executive Board and the WFP Executive Director opened the meeting with a review of the past year’s accomplishments. Regional representatives and national delegates have also delivered their statements.
H.E. Ambassador Demitu Hambissa of Ethiopia in her statement highlighted the climate and conflict challenges and called for a focus on transformative activities alongside humanitarian aid. She also thanked WFP for its effective food distribution efforts.
The session will continue until June 28, discussing and endorsing several key agendas.
